What exactly do I get?
A digital download (ZIP file) with the spreadsheet template, a filled-in example version so you can see how everything works, and any bonus files listed on the product page. Nothing physical is shipped.
How do I receive my files?
Right after checkout you'll get an email with your download link. It usually arrives within a minute or two. If you don't see it, check your spam or promotions folder, then contact us and we'll resend it.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the file to your Google Drive, open it with Google Sheets, then choose File > Save as Google Sheets. All formulas, dropdowns and charts keep working.
Does it work in Excel, on Mac and on PC?
Yes. It works in Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer and Microsoft 365, on both Mac and Windows. It also works in the free Excel for the web.
Can I use it on my phone or tablet?
You can view and enter data in the Google Sheets or Excel mobile apps. For the first setup, a computer is easier.
Do I need to know spreadsheets or formulas?
No. You only type into the light green cells. Everything else calculates on its own, and the Start Here tab walks you through setup in about 10 minutes.
Can I use my own currency?
Yes. Type your currency symbol ($, €, £, A$, C$…) on the Setup tab and it updates everywhere.
Can I start in the middle of the year?
Absolutely. Enter your balances on the day you start and pick any month on the dashboard.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once and the file is yours to keep and use for as long as you like.
Is my financial data safe?
Your numbers stay in your own file, on your own computer or Google Drive. The template doesn't connect to your bank and we never see your data.
Can I reuse it next year?
Yes. Make a copy of your file, change the year on the Setup tab, clear last year's transactions and you're ready to go.
